Jim Hussey

SUMMARY
Hussey began his career in HVAC contracting and building automation in 1971. In addition to serving as president of two companies, he is uniquely in-tune with the industry through his active involvement in numerous associations. As national chairman of the board of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), Hussey has met with thousands of contractors and high-ranking manufacturing executives around the country in order to advance the industry.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
• Founder/President, Bay Point Control, Inc., a building automation and energy conservation service company, 1980-present.

• Owner/President, Marina Mechanical, a 40-year-old Northern California Design/Build HVAC service and construction company, acquired in 1990.

INDUSTRY INVOLVEMENT
National Chairman of the Board, ACCA, 2001-2002
• Volunteer Chairman of the nation’s largest HVAC contracting association and developers of Manual J.

• Met with thousands of contractors and worked with the presidents, CEOs, and other top executives of HVAC manufacturing companies throughout the world to improve the quality of HVAC manufacturing, installation,
operation, and maintenance.

• An early advocate for the North American Technician Excellence (NATE) HVAC technician certification program, Hussey made this program one of the highest priorities of his chairmanship and, as a result, it experienced unprecedented growth during that year.

National Board of Directors, ACCA, 1993-present
• Travels across the country representing the industry at national conferences and at local ACCA chapter events.

• Speaking engagements include several ACCA annual conferences, the Carrier Corp. Design/Build Conference, HVAC Comfortech, ASHRAE national and local chapter events.
